PICKLED PUNK: NEW FILMS FROM WOMEN ON THE EAST COAST

After the popularity of the program Film Fatale: Women Filmmakers from Atlantic Canada which screened at the Cinematheque in 2005, programmer Lia Rinaldo has assembled another great program of recent work from the eastern seaboard.– including the following:

Pickled Punk (2006 ) (9 mins.) By Jackie Torrens
The story of a fetus who gets around. Pickled Punk travels through the lives of a group of small town artists.

Dinner For One (2006) (10:15 mins.) (St. John’s , Newfld.) By Anita McGee
This whimsical bathtub opera stars Robert Joy and Mary Colin Chisolm as neighbours who share a love of opera, thin walls, and a habit of eating in the bath.

i said the loud part quiet and the quiet part loud
(2006) (3:29 mins.) By Tara Thorne
In Tara Thorne’s economical and elegant debut short, a man falls in love. Hard.
