The Stitchy and scratchy movie

On December 2, I grabbed a tiny crew (Denise Williams) and two stars (Jane Thomson and Chuck Teed) and dragged them out into the woods of Upper Musquodoboit on the last day of hunting season to shoot Stitch, the One Minute Film I've been developing since September. It's a socio-economic commentary on the political ideology of, um...

Oh please. It's about an oblivious person. BUT a boy instead of a girl this time. You can say I've run out of ideas, but you cannot accuse me of sexism! (The working title was i said the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet.)

Five hours, one broken light metre, a dead battery and a single terrifying moose call later, we were finished. The second I ran out of film it started to rain. I like to think that's a sign.

Next week I begin editing, splicing and taping on the Steenbeck editor. It's nice to learn a new skill that doesn't inflame my carpal tunnel. Look for a screening in March.

They are really excited to work with me. Incidentally, this is the last we saw of the sun.

Either Hitchcock or McG said "Never work with kids or animals." On the drive home,
Chuck fell asleep and Jane became physically ill. A job well done by me. (Jane's dress
and Chuck's scarf by Value Village.)
